Hello beautiful people,
There is a certain time each day, when the evening light glitters through the trees and right onto my painting desk. It’s a warm kind of light, that makes a tiny disco out of whatever I am working on. I call it the studio magic hour.
I wanted to share a glimpse behind the scenes of a recent magic hour painting of a flower field. There are a couple of special notes about this piece. First, it was inspired by Erin Benzakein of Floret Flower Farm and her beautiful books, Cut Flower Garden and Discovering Dahlias. Second, this the first person I’ve painted into a piece in a very long time.
I hope you enjoy and there will be more garden painting coming up next!
With love, Jess
Always a pleasure to watch u paint and chat Jess! Thanks for sharing your beautiful process. Hugs.
How can an artist have such a tidy studio? I’m so envious!
Beautiful work!
