Hello beautiful people,
This summer is ushering in a season of softening for me, by way of slowing down and creating the space to notice what matters. This change of pace is partially due to the simple fact that my body doesn’t want to move fast right now. Each time I try to push, it quickly informs me that the way of force is just not going to work for us anymore, and something tells me I’m not alone.
I find it fascinating how difficult it can be to enter into a space of allowing in this modern world. Maybe it was always so for humans, I don’t know. I do know that my cat, Pierre, does not have the same issues with carving out time for rest and repose.
So here I am, learning how to meet the harder aspects of my nature, habit energy, with soft power. And I take inspiration and heart in knowing that I am not the only one. Many of us are finding another way to be.
The best thing I listened to this week was this conversation about biomimicry by
- what applied wisdom from the natural world can teach us about how to heal our collective trauma and attend to civilizational callings before us now (ie. the pickle we humans are finding ourselves in).I am also reading and loving The House in the Hedge by
.Wishing you a wonderful week,
x Jess
