Hello beautiful people,
One of my favorite things about life as an artist is the ability to tune into my own creative rhythms and establish rituals and routines that work for me. These are always evolving, as seasons change.
Over time and practice, I am learning to trust this steady rhythm of change. I am learning how to let go of the need to understand things with my mind, and I am learning how to listen.
Beautiful moments from the studio this week—

The rhythm this spring is one of renewal. I came back to life as a full-time artist last September, and I am just starting to get used to the natural ebb and flow of it. Moving from studio mode, to business mode, to rest, relaxation and inspiration mode, sometimes all in the course of one day.
I have learned the hard way, that each mode informs and holds up the others, and I can’t get away with ignoring any one for too long.
This was a rare week of creative flow. I stayed in, got out, finished a painting, and captured the process in a way that added to the energy of inspiration, rather than distracted. So, I’ll take it! And try to remember not to hold on too tight.
Wishing you a wonderful week,
x Jess
P.S. I would love to hear about any rituals and routines, creative or otherwise, that you are enjoying this spring!
